First 50 Words: ALARM

First 50 Words“, hosted by Virginia DeBolt, offers word prompts to help writers kick-start their imaginations.  Today’s word is “Alarm”, and here is the entry I posted on her site this afternoon.

ALARM

Note to Self:

To avoid a repeat of this morning’s fiasco, remind future house guests to shut the door when leaving the bathroom after a shower.  Poor Aunt Selma almost fainted when the smoke alarm sounded its ear-piercing screech, and we had to frantically wave towels under the overly-sensitive sensor to make it stop.

At least the fire trucks weren’t dispatched this time.
