Microfiction Monday #73

Thanks again to Susan at stonyriver for hosting Microfiction Monday, where a story must be told in no more than 140 characters, including punctuation and spaces. Here is this week’s photo, along with my Microfiction.

Wedding Day Blues

Momma, why did great-grandpa look so mad? Wasn’t it his wedding day.
Yes, it was a “shotgun” wedding.
So he didn’t like guns?
Right, that’s it.

    1. Thanks Ginger–Unfortunately Microfiction Monday has been pulled, but there are other great blogs that offer lots of writing challenges…in fact I have to start doing a few more of them myself this summer.

  1. This is funny. You got a loud cackle out of me! Momma played that one off nicely.

Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on Book Blurb Friday. I do hope you decide to opt in and play. It really is fun. You don’t have to wait until next week, either. That post will be front & center until Monday. (Alas, it appears no MMF. Is Susan done with it? I love that meme and hope someone else will pick it up if she opts out.)

Thanks again–hope to be reading your book blurb very soon!

  2. This is very good, Sylvia. I am glad that some of the microfictioneers are finding one another this week, even without Mr. Linky.

Thank you for your comment on my post about L.K. Madigan. As I said in reply:

Sylvia, my heart goes out to you. I knew you’d lost your husband, but I didn’t know how young he was.

I so agree with you about making the most of whatever time we have.

Thank you for sharing this very personal part of your life.
